Around the world in 25 roasters

Most of the roasters will be favorites from past Bean Archives volumes; and there will be a number of new additions as well.

Starting in October, we'll be releasing the roaster lineup. The only thing we'll say so far: we'll have about 10–12 roasters from the US and the rest will be from all over the world.

Every coffee earns its spot

The same way every coffee in the subscription does: a roaster we're genuinely excited about, an origin or variety you don't see often, and a cup that does something you weren't expecting. What we're after is an experience worth discovering. And that's why the roaster lineup will be announced in October/November: we will choose based on the selection available then.

We pour everything into the cup

We keep the packaging simple and practical, so we can invest more into the quality and variety of the coffees.

Light roasts, clean through funky. Light roast doesn't mean one flavour, or one roast profile. Our effort goes into curating a wide selection — clean washed lots sitting next to naturals, anaerobics, coferments and everything in between. This one isn't for someone who'd rather stay in a narrow comfort zone.

We will also plan roast dates against roast profiles, so most coffees can be enjoyed at their peak. The ones that shine fresh sit in the first week, and the ones that reward rest, ultralights included, land at the back.

Brew guide for every coffee

Every coffee we ship through The Bean Archives comes dialed in by us and with our brew guide. That way, every brew guide has the same frame of reference. For the advent calendar it will be the exact same, with one key difference: the brew cards will have a QR code to the brew guide. That way, we can dial each coffee in just a few days before its turn and give you an up-to-date recipe.

Blind tasting experience

Every bag carries a number instead of a name, giving you the chance to brew blind if you'd like. We will have a blind tasting experience of each brew guide without spoilers and without having to look at the card.

Never brew and taste alone again

You're invited into our Discord — a friendly community brewing the exact same coffees as you, the same month.

Ask questions, swap first impressions, get brew help, and discover that the coffee you weren't sure about might become the one you can't stop talking about. No experience required, just curiosity.

Questions

Do I find out what's in it before I buy? +

Not the specific coffees and roasters — honestly, we don't know them yet either. It is more important to us to find an excellent lineup than to commit to certain roasters ahead of time. We will pick all features within ~4 weeks of shipping out. What's fixed now: twenty-five different roasters, all light roast, all whole bean. The Archive shows every box we've shipped since November 2024 — that's the track record you can count on.

How does the blind tasting work? +

Each bag carries a number instead of a name. The matching card — the same card that ships in our monthly boxes — has the coffee, roaster, origin, variety and process. Brew first and read after, or read along as you go.

15g or 30g — which one should I get? +

15g is one cup per coffee. 30g is two brews, which gives every coffee a second chance. If you share your mornings or like to dial in, take the 30g. All recipes will be geared towards 15g doses.

When is it roasted and shipped? +

Roasted late October to early November, shipped around November 20 with tracking. The numbers are sequenced so early ones drink well fresh and later ones open up as December goes on.

Do you ship internationally? +

The shop only checks out to US addresses right now. Outside the US? Drop us a line at hello@thebeanarchives.com and we'll tell you what shipping costs.

Can I gift it? +

Yes — ship it straight to them with a gift note from checkout.

I'm a subscriber — does this replace my regular box? +

Yes! This will ship in place of the November box. Whereas you'd usually start breaking into the November box around the 20th, you'll get this a few days later and start drinking it around 12/1. And then it wraps up by the 25th which will be perfect timing for the December box to have arrived!
