We present you: the second-best coffee in Zurich; plus incredible options from two of your favorite roasters.

ZEFF: Las Flores Pink Bourbon Decaf

In January, Matthias spent about 10 days in Switzerland and visited about 10 coffee shops while there. The best cup I had was a Finca Sophia. The second-best was this decaf. It blew me away with how good it was!

It was also a fun story: we were hanging out at a multi-roaster shop called COFFEE ADDICT, enjoying multiple coffees roasted by ZEFF when about half an hour later, ZEFF's owner and roaster Joshua walked in to drop off some more beans. Of course we got talking and as a result we are featuring ZEFF this month. The decaf was almost sold out and we scooped up all that was left for this add-on feature. So get it before it's gone!

DAK

Our main feature should be a showstopper. But we couldn't stop there since we know a lot of you are crazy for DAK. We chose a clean-ish (you know, for DAK standards) Ethiopian that we've loved in years past, as well as something that screams funk by just looking at it (also we have to admit we wanted to collect that box...)

Hydro Honey - Ethiopia

We first discovered this in 2024 roasted by September and then re-discovered it from DAK at Fount about a year ago after Matt from Black & White said it was fantastic! Did we just mention September, Fount, DAK, and Black & White in one sentence? Yup - that should be all you need to know. From DAK:

Hydro Honey is back this year. This experimental natural / honey from Danche Washing Station is bright and juicy, now creamier and slightly more intense than last year. Expect tasting notes of mandarin, yellow plum, and grapes, fresh, vibrant, and balanced.

200g original box - $21.80
60g in our packaging - $8

Retail at DAK: $21.80 + shipping for 200g

Neon Milk

We have not tried this. We are a little scared. From DAK:

Neon Milk is a coffee from Henry Bonilla in Colombia. This Pink Bourbon undergoes a high-intervention, controlled fermentation with selected yeasts and a hibiscus culture before being washed, creating a playful and floral profile. Think strawberry milkshake, hibiscus, and white sugar. Sweet, dreamy, and a little trippy.

200g original box - $25.30
60g in our packaging - $9

Retail at DAK: $25.30 + shipping for 200g

Scenery

Scenery has quickly become a big hit in our community and we understand why. Our first feature with them, the Jaragual Rosado, was a fan favorite. We love roasters that embrace variety and we think Scenery does just that: our main feature will again be on the funkier side. So for add-ons, we chose coffees that are totally different.

Peru - Las Etiopes Gesha Lot #14

We've been in love with Peruvian coffees this year and this one will be no exception.

Bioreactor + Mosto Anoxic Natural Gesha from Peru
Apricot Juice, Mango, Honeysuckle

100g original bag - $21

Retail at Scenery: $21 + shipping for 100g

Colombia - Luis Camacho's Fragancia

We see a new variety and of course we can't resist. Scenery sent this variety called Fragancia off for testing and the lab found it is likely a hybrid of Sidra [Ethiopian landrace] x Catimor [Disease resistant Timor Hybrid x Caturra cross]. A little more from Scenery:

It's definitely got some of that Sidra cup profile - the basil hint in the finish is a real tell, but none of the Allium taste you can oft find in Sidras. We’re tasting: Orange blossom, pomegranate and lychee aromatics. In the cup it’s juicy and unctuous - we’re getting lime curd, ripe lychee (almost rambutan) and honeydew melon, alongside ripe summer berries and white sugar. Super complex - as it cools we get peach, oolong, orange & lime boiled sweets, and a hint of fresh basil leaf.

Traditional Washed Fragancia from Palestina, Colombia
Lychee, Summer Berries, Lime Curd

100g original bag - $13

About Add-Ons

Our add-ons are offerings that are harder to come by in the US and that are coffees that we would usually add on ourselves when placing our monthly orders. Add ons will come with the same brew card and recipe as everything else.
